Hey, Girl! Real Quick
Hey, girl﹣be strong and courageous!
We are five months into 2026, and for some of us, we are celebrating a new motion of life where all things seem to be aligning just right. Others of us are rearranging what’s not working while enjoying the very thing that brings us joy. Although we are all in different spaces of life, here’s one thing we must not forget as we enter the month of May.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)
Lately, I’ve been in this space where, although I’m walking in obedience to the Will of God, I’ve been becoming weary as I do what is right before the Lord. To keep it transparent, I feel the turbulence of what is good. I sense the stretching that comes with moving into something better. It’s the great commotion from the next level of experiencing the goodness of God, but it requires great trust to match the great commotion of plans He has for me. When the Lord brings His plans into our reality, it disrupts the familiar we are used to. For me, a change of pace and direction is now required, and His tone is more stern than I’m accustomed to. All of this is good because it means I’ve entered a new place with Him that asks me to grow in new ways. This growth disrupts my dependency patterns, survival skills, and coping tendencies. Although it’s good for me, this new place with God needs a new version of me to match the responsibilities I am given to till. While doing so, I’m encouraged to be strong and courageous. Not to be afraid or let anything discourage me.
Today, I leave you with the same encouragement. As you are celebrating, rearranging, healing, enjoying what brings you joy, or doing good by aligning with God’s will, be strong and courageous, and let nothing discourage you from forging ahead with God.
Do not give up on your obedience to the will of the Lord and to whatever He has called you to. Do not forsake doing good because you see little or no results. Do not lose heart because change is stretching you, and the transformative work of your womanhood is birthing a woman you do not know. Do not give up on your hope, for we know that our hope is in Jesus Christ. Do not change your mind concerning things meant to build your character and strengthen your capacity to be exactly who you know you are. Do not walk away if it’s meant to correct you. Most of all, do not allow growth to frighten you because you're changing, and this change is more than different; it’s completely foreign.
My heart is forever rooting for you, ladies.
Happy May,
Love, Kevonna
